Again a dark visit to Aquhorties recumbent stone circle, this time by design rather than accident! I was hoping the moon was out to play so I could investigate if the ancients watched the glowing sphere roll along the recumbent stone *but* it was of course a cloudy night.
Recumbent stones are characterised by always being .. well, recumbent and (by far) the biggest stone in the circle and facing southwest from the circle,
I noitced the one at Aquhorties *feels* like it’s facing north, up the hill, even though it isn’t. Funny I was so disorientated. Certainly the stones felt calming in the night and momentarily stilled the raging internal discourse.
