Return to Upper Lagmore

I had a bit of a wobble the other weekend so I decided it was high time to return to Upper Lagmore, which provided me with much comfort on my previous visit. Free parking again was provided and gratefully received by the Ballindalloch distillery/golf course. From there I went up the track but turned left this time, since I had noticed the fence about ten metres further up was possible to squeeze through. From there, skirting the boggy land, I came to the circle without crossing any other fences.

This clava cairn is ruined yes, but has a lot of atmosphere. It's in a lovely location and despite the busy road is very quiet (although just like last time there was the occasional mysterious bang emanating from up the hillside).

I ruminated for a while and definitely felt much improved - what an amazing site that it can help me like that. I also hoped I wasn't disturbing whatever purpose my ancient ancestors built the circle for; on the other hand maybe they would be pleased that it still has a ritual purpose in this day and age.

I bade a fond farewell to the circle and headed back down the way I came. As I athletically and rather impressively slithered through the fence, I met a woman walking her dog. She said she lived locally and preferred to call this site Garline, after the nearest farm. She also said she had three standing stones on her land which I was welcome to visit. Those turned out to be those listed at https://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/14773/craigroy
